Terms of Service

Version 1.4 | Effective: 15 March 2026

1. What these Terms cover

These Terms set out the rules for using Remi. They are a legal agreement between you and us. By creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them before you sign up.

In short: Remi reads your children's school emails and uses AI to pull out the dates, events and actions you need to know about. You keep control of your data, and we keep the service running.

For how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

2. Who we are

Remi is operated by Phil Morton, based in the United Kingdom. When these Terms say "we", "us" or "our", we mean Phil Morton. When they say "you" or "your", we mean you, the person using Remi.

You can contact us at hello@remi.computer.

3. Early access

Remi is currently in early access. This means the product is still being developed and improved. Features, pricing and availability may change as we learn what works best.

We will give you reasonable notice before making any material changes. See section 15 for how we handle changes to these Terms.

4. Using Remi

To use Remi, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be a parent, guardian or person with parental responsibility for a school-age child in the United Kingdom.
  • Create an account with a valid email address and a secure password.
  • Keep your login details safe. You are responsible for activity on your account unless you have told us about unauthorised access.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

Each person should have their own account. Please do not share your account with others or create more than one account.

5. What Remi does

Remi reads emails from your child's school and uses AI to summarise them. It extracts dates, events and actions so you can see what matters at a glance.

To get your school emails into Remi, we give you a unique Remi email address during setup. You forward school emails to this address, and Remi processes them automatically.

You can also add your own events to Remi, including one-off events and recurring events, to keep everything in one place.

Remi can build a short memory of key facts about each child's school — such as staff names, apps the school uses, or recurring routines. This helps Remi extract more accurate information from future emails. You can view, edit and delete these memories at any time.

If you enable calendar sync, Remi generates a unique subscription URL that you can add to your preferred calendar app (such as Google Calendar or Apple Calendar). Your calendar app will periodically fetch your events and tasks from this URL.

School emails may contain information about your children. For details on how we handle this data, see our Privacy Policy.

6. What Remi does not do

Remi is an aid to help you stay on top of school communications. It is not a replacement for reading the original emails. Please be aware of the following:

  • AI is not perfect. Summaries, tasks and events are generated automatically and may contain errors or miss information.
  • Remi does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy or timeliness of any extracted information.
  • Remi does not contact your child's school or send emails on your behalf.
  • Remi does not make decisions for you. You decide what to act on.
  • Always check the original email if something seems wrong or if a decision depends on getting the details right.
  • Remi's school context memory is a tool to help with extractions. It is not a verified record of school information. AI-managed memories may contain errors — review them periodically.
  • Calendar sync provides a read-only view of your Remi events and tasks. Changes made in your calendar app are not synced back to Remi.

7. Your responsibilities

When you use Remi, you agree to:

  • Set up your email forwarding correctly so Remi can access your school emails.
  • Provide accurate information about your children, including their name, class, school domain and year group.
  • Check the original school emails for anything important, especially where a decision depends on getting the details right.
  • Keep your login details secure and not share them with anyone.
  • Make sure you have the right to share your school emails with us. If your school prohibits sharing their emails with third-party services, you should not use Remi for those emails.
  • Ensure any events you create manually are accurate.
  • Review school context memories periodically for accuracy.
  • Keep your calendar subscription URL private. If you believe it has been compromised, revoke it in your settings and generate a new one.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Remi for any purpose other than managing your own children's school communications, or forward non-school emails to your Remi address.
  • Use automated tools, bots or scripts to access the service.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, copy or extract our code, AI prompts or processing methods.
  • Interfere with the service or attempt to access other users' data.
  • Use the service in any way that breaks the law or infringes on anyone's rights.

9. Your content and our content

Your content: Your school emails, the information you provide about your children, events you create, and school context memories you add manually belong to you. By using Remi, you give us a non-exclusive permission to access, store and process this content for the purpose of operating, maintaining and improving the service. This includes investigating technical issues, resolving support requests, and improving how our AI processes school emails. We do not sell your content or share it with third parties for their own purposes.

Our content: Remi's interface, design, code, AI-generated summaries and the way we present information are our intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce or redistribute them.

For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

10. Fees and billing

Remi offers a 30-day free trial so you can try the service before paying. After the trial, you need an active subscription to continue using Remi. Current pricing is available on our website.

11. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by emailing us.

12. Service availability

We aim to keep Remi available and reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Like any online service, things can go wrong.

  • We may need to take the service offline for planned maintenance or updates.
  • We may modify, add or remove features over time. Where possible, we will give you notice before removing features you rely on.
  • We reserve the right to discontinue the service entirely with at least 30 days' notice. If you are on an annual plan and we discontinue the service before your billing period ends, we will refund you for the remaining unused months.
  • We are not responsible for outages or delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as internet disruptions, third-party service failures or natural disasters.

13. Suspension and termination

We hope it never comes to this, but we may suspend or terminate your access to Remi if:

  • You breach these Terms or use the service in a harmful way.
  • We believe it is necessary to protect the security of the service or other users.
  • Your account has been inactive for an extended period.
  • We are required to do so by law.

We will contact you before taking action and give you a chance to resolve the issue, unless we are prevented from doing so by law or an immediate security concern.

You can leave at any time. You can delete your account from the settings page whenever you want. When you delete your account, we permanently remove all of your data. This is irreversible. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

14. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
  • Any matter that cannot be limited or excluded under the laws of England and Wales, including your statutory consumer rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or your use of Remi is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or £50, whichever is greater.

AI-generated summaries, tasks and events are provided "as is" without any warranty of accuracy or completeness. We are not liable for any loss or damage that results from relying on AI-generated content without checking the original email.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses such as lost profits, lost data or missed deadlines, except where excluding such liability would be unfair under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection law.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. How we tell you depends on the type of change.

Material changes include changes to pricing, subscription terms, liability or our core obligations to you. We will email you at least 30 days before these changes take effect. Material changes may require you to accept the updated Terms before you can continue using the service.

Non-material changes include fixing typos, clarifying wording or making minor formatting updates. We will update the Terms without notice for these changes.

Each version of these Terms has a version number and effective date at the top of this page. If you do not agree with a material change, you can cancel your subscription or delete your account before the change takes effect. Previous versions are available at the bottom of this page.

16. General

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, make up the entire agreement between you and us. They replace any earlier agreements or understandings about the service.

If a court finds that any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest of the Terms will still apply.

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example if the business is sold. We will always tell you if this happens. You may not transfer your rights or obligations to anyone else.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

17. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims in your local courts, and nothing in these Terms reduces your rights under local consumer protection law.

If you have any questions about these Terms, please email us at hello@remi.computer.
